Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Gotcha! Maybe I should start being a little more persistent too!! Word of advice, get multiple quotes from Westjet.. I think we have 6 or 7 now because they came back each time with a different rate - all way more than what we were hoping for. Finally got one today that's $350 less per person than all other previous quotes (for the same week mind you). Makes NO sense. There's a girl named Tracy that we dealt with who gave us the best price.
I was having alot of problems with different quotes as well. A friend of mine suggested I use a destination wedding coordinator, this saved me alot of stress throughout the whole proccess. We paid a security deposit that was never cashed and she acted as a personal wedding coordinator. Her name is Liz Moore. She is based out of Vancouver. I live just outside of Vancouver and still did everything via email.

My fiance and I have now spoken about it and are very keen on doing the Mexican fiesta party after dinner instead of the poolside reception. Can anyone who has been to the resort explain what happens at this fiesta party? I just want to understand if it includes the all inclusive that the guests have paid for or if the drinks are covered in the ticket price? Is there food, nibbles etc? What is the music like? can you request any songs??? Thanks - appreciate your feedback. Thanks Miriam

Hi ladies,

I just heard back from Jazmin regarding options for the poolside reception. She gave me the below as one of the options. I was just wondering, what exactly is this lounge room and special illumination she's talking about?

a private pool party with a cost of 1´470usd per 40people maximun and 3 hrs (8:00pm -11pm) of special drinks (piñas coladas, margaritas, sparkling wine & beers) +  2 lounge rooms + special ilumination + 1 microphone + speaker to connect your Ipod and decorated too with chairs & hight tables

Interesting!  I have no idea what that means!  I wonder if it's like a lounge furniture set up!?!?  That'd be fun!

And special illuminations I would guess is the rope lighting that they do for the poolside receptions, but I'm not positive.

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's worth it.  Don't get me wrong, it looks cool and people will use it... but with that number of guests I'd rather entice them to dance than to relax.

They will still have chairs and cocktail tables set up around the pool, so it's not like people will have to stand.
