Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

We had separate song for the signing. We did the symbolic ceremony and had 4 ppl including my hubby and I sign the certificate. It didnâ€t take very long but long enough that if we had one song for the signing and recessional, we probably would have ran out of music.  If you are doing a legal ceremony, itâ€s my impression that the signing takes quite a bit longer than the symbolic.

I emailed the pastor and the sample ceremony that he sent me has the signing of the ceremony as the last part of the ceremony.  Did you have one song for the signing and then start a new song as you walked back down the aisle?  Did anyone pick 3 songs and use the same song for the signing and walking back down the aisle?

Thank you!

We used separate songs for the signing and walking back, there is a break between the two.  After you sign you still go back to the minister and he says a few words, pronounces you married then you kiss!  So I would recommend the two songs still.

Just a hint..do not stress over music.  I was forever trying to decide about the music, I had soo many ideas..then one day I came home from work and my hubby had downloaded some instrumental music and said hey this is my idea, and it was perfect.  When it came to the wedding, I was so wrapped up in the ceremony and being with my hubby that I hardly noticed the music anyway.  I remember asking my mom later on what she thought of the song we used for the end, and she said she was so wrapped up in watching us she also just barely noticed music.

We had a legal ceremony and our signing song actually had to be repeated for about 40 seconds.  It was too short!  So I'd go with separate songs.

I agree with what everyone else said. Go with separate songs. There is a break between when you sign and when you walk up the aisle so its nice to have two different ones. We actually did 5 songs: one for the guest seating, one for the processional, one for me and my parents, one for the signing, and one for the recessional. I thought it worked really well - but as another bride said, don't stress, I am not sure it was really that noticeable to anyone else as there are other things to focus on :)

Hi everybody I'm new on here. I was just wondering if anybody has done the legal wedding lately? Is a passport and a tourist card all that is required? I've heard people say they ended up going with a symbolic wedding just because it was easier. I thought all that you needed was a passport,a tourist card, and blood test to be done at the resort for $90. Then they mail you your marriage certificate in 3months. Is there something I am missing that makes this difficult? Thanks for any input!

Hi everybody I'm new on here. I was curious if anyone has had the legal ceremony lately at the coba. My fiancé and I will be married there on december 8th. Do you just need a passport and a tourist card to get married? I've read that some people switched to a symbolic wedding just because it was easier. I thought all that was required was a passport, a tourist card, and to have bloodwork taken at the resort for $90 each. Is there something that I am missing that makes this difficult? Neither of us has been married before so there is no extra paperwork with that. Any response is appreciated Thanx!

It was as simple as that for me!  But I live in Wisconsin and they accept a spanish marriage license, so it was easy IN Mexico and back home.

Some people have had problems with translations when they return home.  Others were adopted, changed their names, or like you said, were divorced.

Any of those will complicate things.
