Candles in Rooms?

Does anybody know if you can burn candles in your room at ROR?

We did, and we left them set up the whole time we were there and the maid cleaned around them (we had a lot).

 

Not sure what the official policy is but we had no problems

I wondered about this too. We had thought about including travel candles with boxes of matches, but figured we'd have a hard time transporting so many "flamables" through customs.

I had candles in my room when i went to Puerto Rico...but...who knows..great idea though

My parents suggested I include candles in the OOT... they said they have always brought them on their trips to Mexico and Jamaica and have never had any problems.

 

My only concern was transporting all the candles and matches through customs/airport security... does anyone know the official rules on that?

We gave travel candles in OOT bags and we had them set up around the jacuzzi in our room. No problem mon!

Abbie would know the specifics on checking matches. I think I read somewhere that you aren't supposed to, but I always keep a travel candle in my suitcase and I've never had a problem anywhere.

 

I have metal travel candles and I'm going to put a book of matches in each tin instead of taking a whole box of matchbooks.

I put the matches in a checked bag and had no problems. I found small boxes of matches at the $1 store and I think I got 20 sets for $1.

I don't know about the ROR, but our hotel had candles set up around the tub anyways. So they obviously didn't have a policy against it.

 

I think it's a great idea to have some candles.
