Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta in different time zones??

So I emailed Kelley (at LC) about this and she told me not to stress about the time zones. She said that anywhere in NV that deals with tourists will go by PV time, so in every communication, she uses PV time. Phew.

 

From all the maps that I look at, PV and NV are pretty much at the same latitude (or is it longitude? I always get those mixed up), so why would they be in different time zones? Weird!!

We were concerned about this so we took two watches, and synchronized one at the airport. It turned out that our hotel (Riu Vallarta) had the clocks set to Puerto Vallarta time. We checked in advance and all the tours we booked left on Puerto Vallarta time (even the ones from Nuevo Vallarta marina).

yes they are but all of the hotels and tours are managed by PV time b/c the airport is in Jalisco and they don't want tourists to miss their plane. Do not worry about it. Set your clocks to PV (Jalisco) time and you'll be set.
