moon palace pics anyone??

here is a link to our wedding pics at the Moon Palace over Thanksgiving 2007. Not sure how long the link will last, but hope this helps anyone trying to get a feel for the resort. The first pics were taken the morning of the wedding at the resort and then the wedding/reception pics are obviously after that. Can't say enough about how fabulous elizabeth medina was (our photographer). we loved the MOon palace as well and wouldn't have changed a thing!!

your wedding looked beautiful! I really like that the Moon Palace has the carriage. I have about 75 guests attending so I don't think I'd be able to do it in the gazebo. I'm still debating about where to have the wedding.

roxych1k.. thought I would mention:

In my notes from an early conversations w/ Carolina - Miami, the smaller gazebo (tucan) can seat about 50 - 60 inside. The larger gazebo (bugambilia, one w/ the long walkway) can seat 100 - 150 people inside. I didn't have a note on the chapel gazebo. The knottie 'MrsLoveForOne' mentions she had 78 guests.

I recall Carolina mention that they have held weddings w/ up to 500 people, and they seat the additional guests outside the gazebo on the lawn on either sides of the aisle.

Ooooh i think we are going to have a max of 60 guests but i really really would love the big gazebo - hope we are lucky enough to get it!!

Hi Ladies! I'm debating between the Moon Palace and the Gran Bahia, but so far the Moon Palace seems to have better amenities. I received the wedding package back from the coordinator and she says that with a minimum of 10 paid rooms for three nights, we can have a free cocktail party, and with a minimum of 20 paid rooms for 3 nights, we can have a private reception.

 

All of our guests will be there for 7 days, and I'm expecting we'll have more than 10 rooms, but possibly not 20. Does anyone know if having 10 rooms booked for 7 nights (basically covering two 3 night periods) would count the same as 20 rooms booked for 3 nights each?

 

Also, if you don't have the private reception dinner, does anybody know where in the restaurant you are? Do they set aside somewhere kind of private for you, or are you mixed right in with all the other guests?

 

I'd love any kind of feedback - thank you!

Hi there! I just got back from MP. We had the cocktail reception outside on a private terrace overlooking the ocean. Our reception started at 7:30 so they had it all lit up and it looked absolutely beautiful. We didn't have the dinner because at the cocktail reception we had tons of food/appetizers. You get to pick from 3 different menu's for the cocktail reception. They also set up your own private bar with everything! We used the sound system and brought our IPOD and it was $115 for the sound system. It worked awesome - I was totally impressed with the quality. As far as the dinner goes, if you choose one it's not private but they do sit you in a private area at one of the restaurants - it depends on your group size which one you get. For my SIL's wedding lunch we ate at the carribean restaurant and it was great. There are some outdoor locations as well - we saw bridal party's eating outside at 2 different ones - they were both steakhouses - both by the pool. I cannot tell you how awesome our wedding/reception was. Everyone who was there loved loved loved it. They totally cater to you and seriously anything you want/need they will find a way to help you! Also someone was wondering how many people the chapel sits. After looking at all the other gazebo's the chapel looks like it held the most people. They have solid wooden pews which look beautiful. The other gazebo's set up chairs inside and it looks pretty but I loved the pews. I think it would sit a lot of people but you would have to check with the resort for the actual number. The chapel is for religious ceremonys and I know there is a extra charge for a religious ceremony - we flew our priest down there and he blessed our marriage so we got away with using it for the free package.

Awesome - I'd love to see them. Congratulations on getting maried, by the way! Did you have your dance on the private terrace with everyone, or did you go somewhere else afterwards?
