I just asked her this because we are using the iPod as well - the speakers free to use.... I'm still being told $500.00 for the beach reception... Extra if you want special drinks...

For the welcome dinner, I had reservations made at the steakhouse (again, free) because it won't be private.

We might do the firepit though - which is $800.00 I think.

Welcome hln321

I was also thinking of doing a bonfire for the welcome night but do you think we could negotiate the $800. I think thats alot as it really doesn't entail much set up other than starting the fire. hhhmmmm.....I cannot believe how the costs are adding up.

Looking forward to hearing all about your summer weddings girls.

If you are talking about Cabo, I believe its the RIU Santa Fe and my TA told me the Grand Opening is November 9! That's my wedding day.

Did you make the reservations ahead of time (at the steakhouse) for your welcome dinner?

This sounds like another good (free) idea :)

I would love to have a bon fire too! I'm wondering the same thing, is the price negotiable? I'm not much of a negotiator so I usually pay what ever their asking :

Hi Guys:

Im also a RIU Bride so I think I have called Adriana about 15 times and havent heard anything back as of yet? I have my confirmation but who knows... this has been going on for weeks...I am hoping for May 6th, 2008 at 6:30pm on the beach with about 60 guests and then staying on the beach for a reception. We also want to do the bonfire... Still havent decided on a photographer I love Juan but hes not available... Trying to find a rental company for either white folding chairs or Chivari style chairs as I dislike chair covers so much! Any help would be appreciated! I am looking forward to Sarahs big day and her pictures in the upcoming weeks....

thanks

aj
