Vendor Tips/Thank you's

I know there are threads on this...but my question is if I am just giving cash tips then should I just write a quick thank you note, put the cash inside and then have the wedding coordinator distribute?

 

Is 10% too low?

the amount depends on the vendor I guess... personally - I find it a surprise when I get tipped... and am very appreciative. (any money the government cant see is good money) -- But a personal thank you note is puts the icing on the cake. -- particularly for photographers -- if you write a personal thank you after the wedding.... those mean the most -- especially in this day of quick and easy e-mails! - Personal notes are always the best!

I figure a little thank you card is better than just cash in an envelope...especially for the ones I deal w/ personally.
