Welcome to the forum. Punta Cana is absolutely beautiful. My FI and I visited there last year and we stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana. The Macao is right there as well. You will absolutely love the beaches! I have never seen such powdery white sand.

Wow, I'm also living in Hamilton... unfortunately, I don't have any info about the Riu Macao.... Have you already booked? It seems like the Riu WC's are hard to get a hold of, but I've heard that persistance pays off....

I'm still trying to decide on a location and resort... too many options!!!

It says you are from Barrie. Are you from Barrie or Hamilton? I am moving to Barrie in March, that is why I ask.
