Had my first fitting today...$200 for just a bussell????? (pics)

my alterations were so expensive. It was like 120 for the hem. and then it was about an additional 200 hundred for adjusting the straps and adding a bustle. oh and they took it in about 2 inches!

$200 doesn't sound unreasonable, but sometimes it depends on what type of bustle you get.

 

When I went the woman did this really complicated bustle and had I known how complicated it was going to be before she did it, I would have told her to just do a simple one and I think it would have saved me money too. But it depends what you want.

yah mine was $65 and they charged $15 per bustle. I agree that it looks like yours might be tricky to do. Beautiful by the way.

first of all, yes it's too much, BUT unfortunately that's how is usually goes. i paid about $250, because of all the pickups in my skirt, the way they created the bustle they made 16 more pickups and it cost so much to do that.

I was quoted only 45$ for a bustle (and I think like 80$ to shorten the 5 layers, and 40$ to hand sew the beads back on the bottom front portion). But it makes sense that it would vary a lot depending on the dress. Here is mine

I'd say $200 is very reasonable for your dress. Usually with a pick up skirt like that they can't do a regular 3 button bustle, they have to do 10 or so and you button each pick -up up.
