Arch for Ceremony

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married on a beach and some of the set up pics the coordinator sent me have an arch. I'm not sure I want one. My options are arch, no arch, or pedestals on either side. With the background, I'm not sure if it's needed.

I've attached the pics, for some reason I couldn't cut and paste them in.

I think I like the idea of just the pedestals on either side, kinda like the first picture, just without the arch. The arches are all pretty, so if you go that way it will be fine too. I just for some reason have it in my head that if you're getting married on the beach that less is more, know what I mean?

Y'know, I kinda like the arch! I think it gives you a nice "frame" for pictures, makes it look like a wedding, etc. I have seen ones that have more greenery, and less tulle, though, and I like those better. If you can add more tropical greenery and a few flowers, I think it ties in nicely with a tropical/island beach wedding. JMHO!

I'm glad you asked this b/c I need to start thinking about the same thing. My photographer (Juan Carlos) said to be careful with an arch b/c a lot of times the back is not decorated and when he takes pictures from behind the arch, it doesn't look as good (wires or netting on the back). I'm debating btwn an arch, 2 pedestals or maybe a 4 post tent-like huppa covering - I've seen with bamboo posts and something on the top. I'll try to find a pic. My main idea is to keep it simple and beachy but I do want something where we are standing. Let me know you decide or if anyone else has suggestions for what to do for a beach wedding.
