That stinks! Stupid jerk. :)

I'd suggest some flower clips for other brides. We used them and I loved my BMs so much I stole one and wore it throughout the week. LOL Plus I like to wear all my wedding day accessories occassionally now. It has some nostalgia and I remember the wedding day bliss.

You know it really depends on your personal taste as well as your dress. I think a netted veil is classy and old fashioned. If your dress is real dressy and big I think a traditional, long flowing veil goes great. If your going informal I think a flower goes nicely.

I voted "Flowers only"- i LOVE the romantic yet casual look of flowers...

As i mentioned in a previous post :

"I am a second time bride (i was barely 19!) and have a very vivid memory from my first wedding with the cathedral length veil. My flower girl was standing on it and as we stepped forward to light the candle, my head snapped back like a Pez dispenser! It was actually quite funny, and i still laugh about it to this day, but i think it scarred me for life!"

When I started planning I went in thinking I would skip the veil and go for a pretty, tropical flower.

But once I started dress shopping, I became a bit wishy-washy. My mom kept telling me I needed veil - so I was going to do both and compromise.

Well when my dress came in last week and we were at the salon trying it on... to appease my mom and grandma I tried on a huge variety of veils. (I was thinking something short, light to appease my mom). Well I ended up falling in LOVE with a veil - totally got the whole bride feeling - and realized it defintely completed the look for me.

I may bring a flower for the reception or the TTD session though - because they are so cute!

Although I'm a bit nervous about the wind on the beach during the ceremony, putting on the veil when I was dress shopping did it for me. It totally completed the look and feel of what being a bride means to me. I know I won't want to wear it after the ceremony and a few pictures though, so after discussing it with my hairstylist/BM, I've decided to remove the veil and tuck a few flowers in my hair for some more pics and the reception. I feel like its the best of both worlds.

I went in for a dress fitting last week and I tried on a veil just for the heck of it. I got all teary eyed!!

So now I think I am going to wear a veil!

I will take it off after the ceremony and put a flower clip in my hair.

I am having a reception when I get back home, so I may wear the flower or a pretty rhinestone clip in my hair for that.

Hope it isn't too windy in Cancun because my hair will be down AND now I am wearing a veil. I'll just hope for the best.
