oh hooray! so glad to hear the starfish made it in the nick of time! unsure what is going on with jacilynda and her family but sending my best wishes to her that things get better.

 

the starfish passing is just another example of the many wonderful things this forum is responsible for. i got more compliments on the fact that my "something borrowed" was being passed from DW bride to bride than on the starfish itself. everyone thought it was a really sweet idea.

We set our date today with the resort! It is now June 5th 2010 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Yes, we're now doing it relatively close to home so that more of our family and friends having financial issues can make it. But I fell in love with the resort that we are having it at, I feel like it is our own little world there. And I would love to still have the starfish because even though our wedding will now be spanish influenced, you ladies at BDW have helped me through so much by showing me I'm not alone in all of this. I love the idea of this starfish being my "something borrowed" even if I'm not on a beach:) Plus, you can't complain about a little extra sparkle right?

jstar- there are two threads going on in here at the same time. There is a blue one and a white one and basically it is a starfish charm that gets passed from bride to bride to represent our friendship within BDW. We use it for our wedding then send it along to the next bride. It can be your something borrowed for the wedding. I think its pretty cool and even thought i'm no longer having a DW i'm still going to use it. :-) feel free to join the list if your wedding date is not taken already.
