Tara, what did you get for favors? And what kind of makeup did you get?

 

Im going to go with one or both of my bms to bare escentials to get my make up done there, i think it would be too light for the wedding day but i would like to try it for the rest of the time we are in Punta Cana. I hate heavy makeup and i heard it's really light. anyone use it? And then i'm going to go to sephora for a makeup trial too for wedding day makeup.

 

Michelle how was Pineapple Express? It's nice getting a break once in a while.

 

Erica can't wait to see the pics from legal day. How did it feel wearing your wedding band?

 

My weekend was pretty good. The bm dresses are so pretty, i'll post a pic later. but my sister's is a little too small. Her measurements were correct but it's very snug on her. And she's very skinny so I really didn't want her to lose weight for it. the lady at the bridal shop said they can take it out a little, so that's good. I was a little nervous when i couldn't zip it up. hehe But it should all work out.

 

FSIL, talked me into trying my dress on when we were there. I haven't had it on since I bought it almost 8 months ago. It was weird having it on, I felt like i was getting second thoughts. Has anyone else experienced this? FSIL kept saying it looks great. When i bought it, it just fit. I've lost 13lbs since then so im hoping once it's fitted properly I'll love it again.

 

Me and my sis put the ribbon on our fans. they came out pretty good. Being the clutz that i man, burnt the crap out of my fingers with the glue gun a few times. Erica, hopefully your better with a glue gun than me lol. I think i'm going to glue the programs on the front when i get down there and also glue either a starfish or seashell when i get down there. I'll do one here to show you guys once i finish the programs (there started) and get the shells or starfish.

Awww...were you guys sad to put your ring away? When I put mine in the box from wearing it home from the store I was sad and excited at the same time.

We didnt' make it to see the band. We got caught in a flash flood! OMG - it was terrible! The streets were flooded to the door of the bar! In the end we ended up driving back across town closer to home with my BF, her DH and BIL and the guys played pool and we drank and chatted. It was nice to go out without kids!

YES - tell us how BE makeup works. I am going to the Mac counter in Oct to get anything that will keep my makeup on in the humidity! But after that I only want something for the evenings when we go to dinner so my face isn't so shiny. Right now I use tinted moisturizer from Proactiv and the other day my dad said my face looked grey - I'm thinking because it has sunscreen in it.

Remember Danielle - I was having second thoughts on my dress too after I put it on? You'll be fine. Once everything is in place it will be fine. Are you wearing a veil? Do you have your jewlery yet? The thing is - DO NOT look at any other dresses or you FOR SURE will go crazy!

Well...you guys are going to kill me...I FORGOT MY CAMERA this morning!!! I only took a couple of pics because something is still wrong with the camera in that it is draining batteries fast! We got a lot done. It would have been better if people wouldn't have brought their kids - but oh well! It was just so loud in my house. They kept calling me a sweatshop owner! LOL! Then every once in a while Shawn would interject something on behalf of the girls and he started referring to himself as their Union Rep. LOL!!! It was hillarious!

We had a good time. All of the food was gone! We had caesar salad, bread (I only ate half a piece) grilled chicken and I made some penne pasta with alfredo sauce (for the kids), and iced tea and carrot cake. No one ate the cake - except for the kids. We got all of the invites done, wedding programs almost done - (I ran out of tape), most of the tye tags and our flip flops.

It was a paper cutting marathon. We started at about 10:30 and finished up around 3pm. It was a long and productive day. I learned a couple of things about my friends...my BF (MOH) has no craftiness in her at all...my other close friend (BM) has great handwriting....my cousin in law (BM) is very assertive and organized like me and I am so glad she was there because she kept things in line! My Step mom CAN NOT cut a circle to save her life! My older sister has lost total control of her kids. LOL!!!

In the end we got a lot done and while there is more to do, the bulk of it is done! I got an e-mail this morning from my FMIL and she sent me the menu from the restaurant for our Rehearsal Dinner. Now we get to pick stuff off the menu and get going on that project now.

I actually got my make up done twice this weekend! Sat I had bare escentials, Sunday I got Laura Mercier. To be honest, I didn't love the Bare Escentials. I know there are tons of girls on this forum that do, but for me it felt like a plastic mask was attached to my face. I hardy wear make up anyway, but as soon as I left the store I called FI saying OMG I have to wash this off NOW! Also, I don't usually have a problem with pores looking large, but they definitely did with the BE. Laura Mercier was definitely more expensive (but then I bought almost everything she put on me) but it feels SOOOOOOOO much better Here's a picture. I'm not doing the under eye eyeliner. Tara, glad you found some make up. I love the Laura Mercier stuff. I too got sucked in a bought everything she put on. Glad you are happy with what you got.

 

Danielle, I bet like you said once it fits better you will fall in love with your dress all over again!!

 

Celina, you are lucky we love you!! No camera Oh girl!!! What are we going to do with you?

 

It sounds like everyone is getting a lot done. I am currently on the knot website ordering some things (cameras and other stuff)during their 3 day sale.

Celina, that's right you didn't like your dress either. Sounds like your party went good. the sweatshop and union rep stuff cracks me up. I'm probably like your moh, not creative at all. I stole most if not all ideas from this forum lol The menu picking should be fun. That's the kind of stuff I'm good at hehe

 

Tara your make up looks great. Very natural, which i love. I hate wearing make up too, i feel so weird with it on my face. I'll have to check out the Laura Mercier makeup.

Steph - It looks like you had a great time at your Bachelorette party. I don't think there are any clubs like that in the city. That would be a hoot to go to!

 

I found out that my Mom's friend is throwing me a shower on Sept 14th and we are having a spa day. She is going to arrange for a bunch of make overs and massages and so on to happen at here place!

Speaking of Makeup - Steph, your makeup looked good at your Bach Party! The pics are great!

 

Speaking of Cameras - Sam's club on line has wedding cameras 5 for $15 dollars. (or so...the last time I checked they were VERY reasonable) I didn't tell everyone on BDW because when I go to buy them they will be out of stock for the next year! LOL!

 

Danielle - the menu stuff just made me hungry!! AND sentimental about being back in PV. We ate at Fajita Republic when we were there last year. OMG - it was SO yummy!

 

Erica - your mom's friend is a saint! What a wonderful shower theme! I am so jealous!!

 

What is the difference in the LM and BE makeup?

For me it was mostly the feeling. BE made me feel really.... plastic. Does that make sense?

LM felt so natural. I wan't rushing home to wash it off. And I actually wore some today and I love it. It's so easy and a tiny bit goes a long way. So even though it's expensive it will last a long time. Girl that did my make up said she's had her bronzer for 2 years and she uses it every day.
