Prayers needed...

My mom just called me to tell me that one of my cousins just found out he has a brain tumour. I don't even know what to do...most of my life I grew up not knowing him because my uncle left my cousin and his mom when my cousin was really young, but within the last year or so we've gotten back in touch and have become pretty close...we talk just about every day now.

 

She said that she doesn't know if it's malignant or benign because she was getting the info 2nd hand from my dad, but my cousin and his mom showed up at my uncle's work today and I'm not taking that as a good sign because my cousin hasn't seen his dad in 16 years until today.

 

He's such a good kid - he just graduated from high school last year and got accepted into every college he applied to and he was super excited about going to college this year and now his whole future is up in the air. He's so talented and funny and just an all around good kid and I love him to death and want him to be ok...I just don't know what to do to help or what to say to him or anything...

 

I'm really sorry if this isn't making any sense, I'm totally flipping out right now and have no one else to talk to.

Oh Melissa. I'm so sorry. I hope it's benign. I had a friend in high school who developed a brain tumor as well. They were able to remove it and he has had no problems since. I hope it's the same for your cousin.

Melissa, I am so sorry. I know how tough this situation is. My mom had a brain tumor 2 years ago and it was so scary. She had to have brain surgery but luckily it was benign. She is fine now and has not had any problems since. I will keep him in my prayers.

Melissa, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Brain tumors are never fun to deal with. I really pray that it will be benign and he can continue on with his young and brilliant life. Keep us posted, we'll be crossing fingers for you. Do stay positive and be there for him for anything. He is going to need your support regardless of how it turns out!
