Name and State of Residency change question

Recommended Posts

Ok. So, in a nutshell, I live with FH in PA but am still a NJ resident (b/c I am a full-time student and still on my parents insurance, etc). Once we marry I am planning on changing my name and my permanent address to reflect our PA residence.

My conundrum is, which comes first, the name or the state?

These are a couple of thoughts that have crossed my mind:

I don't want to change my name in NJ, get a new license, etc only to be changing my state of residency a few days later

If I change my permanent address to his now, I may lose my insurance coverage since I no longer live with my parents

I don't want to change my state of residency, get a new license and then have to get another one when I change my name

catch 22 right?

So, for those of you who are going through (or went through) a name and residency change, what did you do?

TIA
