Bouquets

Has anyone that had a real bouquet, bring their bouquet back home with them? I was wondering if anyone had any problems bringing it back or not. Our ceremony is on a Monday and we are leaving on Wed, so I figured the bouquet should still look good. Any opinions?

I can't imagine you would be allowed to bring it back, now having said that my sil managed to bring back my bouquet (she caught it), how I am not sure

I don't think you can bring it back to the US on an international flight, you can always put it in your suitcase but if they open it and find your bouquet, they will ask you to throw it away.

 

At least, that is what they do with food.

No, you cannot bring your bouquet back over the border. BUT, a few girls have managed to sneak theirs back home. When we flew out of Cabo, they searched everyone's suitcases before checking them, so it may be difficult!

omg,.. I've been on the fence about whether or not to go with fake or real flowers, and I really wanted to make a shadow box with the items from my wedding (my friend made one and it is absolutely gorgeous), and if I don't have my bouquet in there it would really be a bummer. guess I better start my search!!

Even if you end up w/ fake flowers, you need to let them know, cause if they look really good, they might think they are real and confiscate them.

I'm going to try to sneak mine over the border in my suitcase...mabe put it in something that looks like soemthing else...i have to research it too

Actually, you CAN bring your bouquett to the US, you don't need to hide it or anything, but you might want to keep it in your luggage, not carry on, and find something to keep it safe from getting smashed.

 

The main reason why customs don't let you bring some stuff over to Mexico or USA, is pollution or insects that might be on the flowers, fruits, etc... in this case, the flowers are already dead, sounds nasty but it is, it takes days for a flower to loose its beauty, but since they've been cleaned, used, put on water, stay out in the sun, all the bugs fly out of it, since they need fresh flowers to stay alive.

 

You might find a cardbox or talk with your WC or FLorist to arrange a box in order to take your flowers with you.

 

Usually, most brides take their flowers with them, and up to this day, there's never been any trouble with the flowers.
