Question about having marriage license translated

Recommended Posts

For those of you that had a legal wedding in Cabo and got a marriage license that was in Spanish- where did you go to have it translated to English? Also what did it cost?

We are planning to have a legal wedding in Cabo so I am trying to figure out what I need to do when I get back!feedback.gif

I just looked in our local yellow pages for a translation company. Also if you go to your local security of state office, (or even look online) they will have a print out of translations offices that they will accept. Be sure to contact your branch office first so you know what they will require to make you name change legal.

Hi - translating the document should be easy and inexpensive regardles of whether you get it translated in Cabo or back home.

What you need to find out is whether or not you will need the translated copy to be certified or apostilled as this can only be done where you get married. This service will end up costing anywhere from $80 - $100 (Cabo)...

Our resort did all the translating for us - it was $35 and I showed it yesterday to get a new drivers license, SS card and bank stuff. It worked! So for me, it was the easiest thing just to do it at the resort instead of coming back here to find a translator.
