Right now I am an independent employee. So I get nothing. I am supposed to get an offer from Citi Mortgage this week and they give 13 weeks paid. Which is a big bonus. So I just waiting for the phone call.

The state of NJ lets you get paid state temporary disability benefits. Do you girls have that if you dont get maternity leave?

Nope the state of Missouri doesnt have that.

Danielle, I am so sorry to hear what happen. If you need ANYTHING, you know we are all here for support!

 

Regarding time paid during maternity leave, my company doesn't pay during my leave, but in the state of CA I can get up to 12 weeks disability which pays only 55%-60% of what I currently make. So, that's better than nothing! I also read (not sure what it's called) but I can take up to 4 weeks off before the baby comes with full pay. I have to read more into it, but if I can do that I'm going to take full advantage of it.

I am about the same.... and I am still not sleeping at night and it is driving me crazy! I have an appt. tomorrow and am hoping to get some good news then! Friday is my last day at work, so I am really looking forward to that!

I posted this in another thread, but I guess it makes more sense here.

 

Are you ladies planning on getting waxed before you go into labor? I hear since we are ultra sensitive down there during this time that it hurts really bad. I don't know if it matters to the hospital or not- I think they used to shave the area, but read that they don't always now.

I know in the event I won't really care what it looks like, but I have been thinking about it.

I havent decided what I am going to do with this one. I am thinking of getting waxed now because Im doing the water arobics class and I m getting tired of shaving. With my first baby I shaved my self the hospital did nothing.

Waxing or shaving before labor?! This never even crossed my mind?! I'm glad you girls brought it up!

 

I have never waxed in my life and I don't think I want to try it either. However, I can't imagine shaving will be easy once I'm full term, so I'm not sure what I will be doing. One more thing to think about....

I am taking 12 weeks off and am using my vacation & sick time and short term disability. Our company offers no paid maternity leave.

 

As for the waxing...yes, I am definitely planning to get it done a few weeks before I'm due!
