Danielle, I am so sorry to hear what happen. If you need ANYTHING, you know we are all here for support!

Regarding time paid during maternity leave, my company doesn't pay during my leave, but in the state of CA I can get up to 12 weeks disability which pays only 55%-60% of what I currently make. So, that's better than nothing! I also read (not sure what it's called) but I can take up to 4 weeks off before the baby comes with full pay. I have to read more into it, but if I can do that I'm going to take full advantage of it.

I work on commission not salary so no maternity leave for me. I'm actually only taking a week off when the baby is born and then I will be continuing to work from home which should be really interesting.

Danielle, I am so so sorry. I have been through it as well and everybody handles things differently but if you ever want to talk I'm here for you.

Shea, how are things going with you? I went to the docs today. I am 50% effaced but not dilated at all yet. Sounds like we are doing about the same as far as progressing (or not progressing). My doc also said my cervix was very posterior and I think it has to move forward or something before birth. Maybe our babies will really be born on the same day!

I am about the same.... and I am still not sleeping at night and it is driving me crazy! I have an appt. tomorrow and am hoping to get some good news then! Friday is my last day at work, so I am really looking forward to that!

I have another question....

I posted this in another thread, but I guess it makes more sense here.

Are you ladies planning on getting waxed before you go into labor? I hear since we are ultra sensitive down there during this time that it hurts really bad. I don't know if it matters to the hospital or not- I think they used to shave the area, but read that they don't always now.

I know in the event I won't really care what it looks like, but I have been thinking about it.

Waxing or shaving before labor?! This never even crossed my mindblush2.gif?! I'm glad you girls brought it up!

I have never waxed in my life and I don't think I want to try it either. However, I can't imagine shaving will be easy once I'm full term, so I'm not sure what I will be doing. One more thing to think about....

Danielle, I am so sorry...big hugs!

I am taking 12 weeks off and am using my vacation & sick time and short term disability. Our company offers no paid maternity leave.

As for the waxing...yes, I am definitely planning to get it done a few weeks before I'm due!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
