I totally agree! I don't think you are asking too much out of her. If she didn't want the responsibility she shouldn't have said yes in the first place. I say if you want to demote her, do it! No need to stress about it.

I'm so late on this thread...when I read that IM, my jaw dropped...I cant believe the lack of support your sister (and family) has shown...and I sympathize with you bc Ive been dealing with similar issues in a way. However, it looks like the other ladies have helped you make a decision on how to handle your sisten and I totally agree with the "matron of honor" idea!! best of luck Maura...I really hope this will be the end of the family drama. :)

That's rough. We've encountered a similar family situation..just try to remember what's really important - you and him. As for your sister, you can't change her but you can change your reaction to her. Could you just have her as a bridesmaid or ask one of your other bridesmaids to be a backup MOH for you?
