Hi LilyRose--thanks for the warm welcome!

I am from Burlington, VT. Where in Ca are you from? MTL is very close, so I visit there often.

I am very excited about the concept of having a small, intimate wedding so hopefully that won't be too much of a problem :) I know what you mean about cost. We were initially going to do a Feb. wedding, but had to push it out to help lower costs for our guests. We have locked in April 14th as our wedding date. I have spoken with Karolin a few times regarding questions and details and she has been great! I think we know most of the details--now it will be a matter of locking them in once we determine how many people can attend. We are planning on sending our save the dates out by the end of next month. We are still in the process of trying to determine a location and details for the AHR--ugh.

Jade Mountain looks beautiful! We are hoping to stay there on our wedding night. You'll have to share all of the exciting details once you are married :)

Hello Crystalg3!

Glad to see your date is chosen!  I will sure share pics and details with you!

You are right, you can feel my "Frenchie" Montreal girl in me! (Sorry by the way for my poor grammar!)

I am from Montreal but have been living on the West Coast (Vancouver) since the last 6 years now.

I have been to Burlington a couple of time!  Gorgeous place by the Lake!

Hello ladies!

Since we are such an active and nice group now, I had this idea to regroup every "bride to be infos" in a single post.  Maybe there is a way to make it a sticky but I will have to research that.  Any help welcome!  And please let me know if your info has changed (specially dates and resort) or if I forgot someone (hopefully not...)

LilyRose what a great idea!! Looks like I am the first to take the plunge!!

So I tried on my dress again .. .. haven't tried it on since last October. . . it zips up, but it's a little tight around my middle...nothing that can't be fixed by April.

Question for you guys-- we are having a pre-wedding dinner at the Jalousie right on the beach. The event coordinator there suggested I get a tent since St. Lucia is known for having short rain showers ... the tent is 20 feet x 40 feet. Along the 20 feet side the caribbean buffet will be set up. As of right now, there will only be roughly 20 people attending .. .does anyone think this is too large of a tent? I tried to stake out the size in our backyard just a bit ago, but just couldn't really picture it. The FI was no help either. My fear is that the tent will be too large for the group and will look empty.  Any and all thoughts will be welcome.

Happy planning to you all!!

Better to be too big than too small :)

Will there be music?  Because then you'd have some extra room for dancing.

@wilsonj2  -- Ohhhh yeah we will have a dj and dancing so it should be perfect!!  cheesy.gif  I am not going to stress about that any longer!!

My to do list for this weekend is to drop off the OOT bags at the mall to get embroidered with St. Lucia and the date 4.16.2011, order new tags for my favors (they currently have the first date in november on them) and begin my packing list!!

45 days left till the big day and only 39 left till we fly down there!!  Getting sooo excited. Hope everyone is doing great!!

Got a call from our wedding planner at Ladera today and went over everything and everything is working out like I want except the flowers sad.gif . . .with the original date there wasn't a problem getting the pink bougainvillea on the wedding arch, but there won't be enough in April  .. so going with pink and white ginger lillies instead..   I'm going to remain positive and not let this get me down.  I requested pink and white orchids for my bouquet and she is sending a request to Castries to see what they can do-- keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Hi Monica Mai,

I agree, the tent will be perfect, do not worry about it. :-)

For the flowers, I completely understand how you feel.  I have hesitated many times between real touch and the flowers provided by the resort.  The thing is that you never know what fresh flowers they gonna have and how they are going to look. Our resort made it clear that special flowers need to be imported.

I think you will like the ginger lilies. The wedding arch will look good. I am crossing my fingers for your bouquet! Keep us updated!  It will help other brides to choose their flowers!
