Ok I don't know what the overlay on my dress was but it didn't iron well. I tried steaming it with the hotel iron and accidentally scorched a small spot on the overlay. I would definitely do a test run before purchasing yards of fabric!

Yup. Born and raised. Hence the reason I was thinking we might actually do it. Don't know when I'll be out next, but maybe before the wedding, otherwise certainly before Xmas. Meetcha at FX McRorys?

yikes, good to know! at least it was lacy, and like champagne colored, kinda, right? so the hole might look like it was on purpose?

On purpose? Not quite but I tried not to think about it after it happened. Steve kept hugging me telling me to calm down. It was on my butt/hip area and it was the size of a quarter maybe. I then called my mom and sister to come look. They said it wasn't bad but I thought they were just trying to make me feel better. The day of the wedding though, I doubt anyone noticed. I know I didn't think about it once.

Oh yes. If you're going to iron organza (unless it's silk organza), it's made of poly. So put something (anything!) over it before you put the iron on it. That stuff will pucker and melt like butter if hit with direct heat!
