Alternate view though- I did a WD and most of my guests that it was a silly thing to spend money on. Most of the guests were my family members so they were probably a little more vocal than a normal guest would be. In hindsight, I wish I would have saved the money and had everyone meet for dinner somewhere at the resort. We practically did that every night so when we had the WD- about 4 days into the stay (we waited for FI's parents to arrive) everyone was already well aquintated and having a good time together.
