Oh wow, I bought my dress!!

Recommended Posts

Never thought at this stage in the game that I'd be saying those words... just got engaged (beginning of February 2007), getting married in November, but was planning on shopping for a dress in maybe July or August (we all want to lose some weight first, right ladies?)...

Have done some glancing at photos on the net and some minor try-ons at stores (maybe 5 dresses total) within the last 2 weeks...

Anyway, went to the wedding show in Vancouver, B.C. this past weekend and actually bought my dress there!!!! Yeah, crazy!!! I was there with my mom and asked her if I was jumping the gun and she said that although I am known for that sometimes, if it feels right, why not save myself the stress and just DO IT... so I did!

The dress is being altered to add stays (?) into the back, those are the drawstring ties that allow you to fit the dress to you perfectly, which for me is a great plus as it looks very pretty and elegant and also with this alteration, you can gain or lose up to 10 lbs and the dress will still fit perfectly. So anyhow, bought the dress from a store in Calgary, the lady will alter it there and send it to me within the week. I also bought a matching veil and a blue and white stone tiara/headband. Oh, well... mom bought the tiara and veil (thanks Mom!!)...

So here is the dress (front view) in pink, but my dress is IVORY and it is the taller dress in the back of the two. It is actually a bridesmaid dress but it is perfect for the likes of us destination brides. It fits perfectly and hits the floor/sand without dragging. Going to go bare foot with flat sandals for afterwards. The beading above the breasts and on the body are whiteish also... it's very pretty and I couldn't be happier, in both that the search is done before it started and that is is such a flattering dress for me!

I love your dress - very appropriate for a beachy wedding! When you find "the dress" you know. I've had stays before. I'm smallish in the bust, so they definitely ensure that the dress stays up. The last thing you want to be doing is tugging at your dress!

Congrats again on finding your dream gown!
