May RIU Cancun Wedding?

Hello! My name is Shilo and I am trying hard not to be a worried, crazy Bridezilla!

 

I am just now joining when our wedding is less than four months away (May 10th) and I am kicking myself because most of the plans are set in stone! We chose the RIU Cancun out of a price/location compromise and I hope we are pleased. It sounds like Cabo is the place to be! I just want everyone to be happy and not wish I choose someplace else.

 

We have the rooms and flights booked for nearly 30 people. Now I am focusing on finding a simple, beachy wedding dress, inexpensive favors, preferrably beach bags or towels, and trying to figure out all the apostilled, translated documents the resort is saying are required!!

 

Any help would be great. Sorry if this info is already out there, I couldn't find it!

hi shiloh, welcome to the forum! cancun is wonderful...the water is so much nicer than in cabo..

 

there are so many cancun/rm brides that we are waiting to get married so we can ooh and ahhh over pics.

 

regarding docs, your WC at riu should be able to help you with that!

Welcome Shiloh! Cancun is beautiful- we love it there and that would be another second choice of wedding location for us. Like Tammy said, the water is much prettier there! I've stayed at the Riu in Cabo, so if the one in Cancun is anything like it, you'll have a great time!

Welcome! Please do not be upset with your location. Cancun is great and hear only good things about the RIU. Your guests are going to have an amazing time. Thanks for all those dress ideas. I guess I never thought to look for non-wedding dresses. Some of them look perfect for the beach!

 

My fiance and I stayed at Cancun Palace (pre-hurricane) and Moon Palace this past May where we got engaged. We haven't stayed at the RIU before. I am still stressed about everything being just as wonderful as our previous stays.

I'm getting married at RIU Palace Las Americas on May 19th...I did a lot of research in choosing the location/hotel, etc..it is natural for you to second guess most of your decisions for such a big event! I have had moments of "OH NO" about my dress, hotel, location....thankfully not about my FI...but I think it is natural to feel like the grass is greener...I have some pics that the WC sent me of RPLA if you want me to show you...
