Well since we booked direct with Continental we had to go through them. Aloha is one of their team airlines I guess. Anyway, they switched our flights without our knowledge to Pacific Wings Airlines and the return on Hawaiian airlines. I was going to ask for a refund but not sure they will give me one now. Hopefully Alyssa can get the wedding on Maui so we never have to leave the island .We fly into Maui from the Mainland 3 days prior to the date we were arriving on Molokai. If the wedding is on Maui, we will just need to get from Maui to Kona since that is where we were flying to after the wedding. Nothing a one way cheap ticket cant solve. This totally sucks for A&K to have 2 bad things happen to the plans. However, I totally agree with the poster on the wedding site disaster thread that something always great happens when things seem to go bad.

hi gwen, FYI because this was something due to the airlines fault and not your error, they should work with you to provide a refund of the segments from OGG to MKK. make sure and contact them soon about it, they will probably put a statute of limitations on the length of time you can request a refund.

if you do this and dont fly the segment you were rebooked on ( on pacific wings) make sure you notify the ticketing airline and cancel that segment. make sure they put what we call "an arunk" (ARNK) segment in the itinerary in place of the cancelled segment or else when you fail to board that 2nd to last flight (from MKK back to OGG) you will lose your reservation for the connection. does that make sense? the computer assumes that if you dont board the first segment of a 2 flight route, then you probably won't board the 2nd segment either.

sorry for the novel! probably more than you ever wanted to know!

Both Hawaiian and United are protecting Aloha passengers while they can. Of course, there are only so many seats, so act quickly if you need to.

Just don't start refusing or reversing charges on your credit cards just yet. If you really need a ticket, you could screw yourselves up more if you do that.

Well, this bankruptcy did get me! My FI and I were planning to meet some friends in Maui for a vacation in May. As luck would have it, we booked on Aloha! sad.gif

I called United about rebooking, but they were only taking care of customers who booked through them. I had booked through Aloha's website. The United agent advised me to contact my credit card for a refund and rebook on any other airline. (That was also one of the instructions on the Aloha site.)

Coincidentally, I booked on my United miles credit card. The customer service person logged my claim and said she would send me a dispute letter that I'd have to fill out and return within 10 days. Then my request will be processed within 30 days.

It SOUNDS like I will get a refund, but I'm not 100% sure. I would get new tickets if I had the refund in hand. Without it though, I'm a little wary. I don't want to spend twice the amount. By the time I get the refund, it may be too late and way too expensive. What to do!

Any advice?? At least this wasn't for our wedding!

Good news! We had booekd through Continental orioginally so they were the host airlines for all the flights. They had booked us on 2 Aloha flights and you guessed it, an ATA flight from LA to Maui. Oh what a pain when I first called. The lady on the phone said I would have to pay a change fee and the increased fare to get on another airline for our flight from LA. UGHGHH! So I then talk to Alyssa and THAKFULLY! they got their wedding moved to the Big Island .WOO HOO! I called back and got another person with continental and they not only changed all of our flights with no change fees, but they sent us a wopping $60 is vouchers because the rate went down a bit. HA! it just goes to show you that not all customer service agents are the same. The first girl could have cared less about our problem yet the 2nd guy went out of his way to accomodate us.

That's fantastic news. If you have the 2nd guy's name, I'd send a letter or email to Continental letting them know about his great customer service!
