NEW bride - ROR aug 08

Hi all!

A week ago, I have finalized the location of our ceremony in ROR. I thought the stress would be over, but now i have to plan the reception back home (atlanta) for those who cannot make it to Jamaica. The party will be 2-4 weeks after the wedding.

Any suggestions for the reception? Is a destination wedding reception similar to a regular wedding reception? Do we still have to have the traditional elements: father/bride and mother husband dances, cutting a cake, etc... or is it just a party?

THanks,

Kelly

Because DWs are non-traditional, you really don't have to have a traditional reception (AHR =at home reception) unless you want to.

Ours will be fairly traditional--we'll wear our dresses/suits, have a cake and lots of food, drinks and dancing. Other girls are having themed back-yard BBQs!

I agree, a DW is what you want it to be, you shouldn't feel obligated to add anything you don't want to (although you shouldn't feel that way for any wedding either!!).
