Ok so I bought a pair of pricey wedges for the ceremony and my FI thinks I am absolutely crazy for wanting to buy a sparkly pair of pumps for picture and maybe the reception. What do you ladies think? Here is the idea, I am going for.... What do you like the best? Or should I just stick with my comfy wedges all night?

Thanks

Thanks for sharing your story, i think you dad was definitely telling you that you did the right thing! I think you could easily replicate these with a flat you LOVE and then either turn to etsy to have beautiful butterfly shoes clips made or search for some great broaches yourself.  I know I am not the only one to suggest this but I wanted to make sure you knew so u dont give up our your butterfly shoes, I think it would be an amazing nod to your dad in your wedding and something special for just you two!

My shoe dream...

Well, I found my dress...made the deposit & ordered it.  A few days later I started to doubt my dress decision and asked my dad (in heaven, my guardian angel) for guidance. Let me know whether you think it's the right one!  (Even though I cried when I had the dress on!)  Anyway, later that day as I was browsing wedding shoes on the internet.  I knew I wanted to wear a flat / little heal blinged/embellished  thong like sandal...since I am 5'10 & Bill, my FI is 6'1.  I came across these ballerina peep toe flats....I started to cry.  See, my father's sign to our family since we lost him 17+ years ago...is a butterfly.  Whenever we see one - it's when we seem to miss him or need him the most.  You can imagine my emotion when I found these.

Well, for a mere, $654.10 plus $42.00 shipping to the US I can own them for $696.10!  As beautiful as they are, I do not think I can justify the cost.  Although, seeing these made me realize Dad was telling me I picked the right dress.  I will find a way to incorporate Dad to my day, a butterfly somewhere...I so wish I could find knock offs of this shoe.  Fellow brides, please keep your eye out for me!  I have time....April 2013.  xoxo

Happy Planning!

*Note:  Shoe is Aruna Seth,, Liana Ivory Pearlised Leather Peep Toe Ballerina

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they are definitely fakes/knockoffs/replicas.  If you are ok with that do some serious research into the site.  I had a friend order her wedding shoes (Not the same brand) from a site she found them cheaper.  It was in China and they never shipped and she has no recourse... they jsut took her money.  I feel like it is a buyer beware thing.  If they have paypal you likely have better protection!

I've seen these shoes for sale now for anywhere up to $900 (I nearly choked). I found a website http://www.redbottomshoeses.com/christian-louboutin-petal-sandals-pink-p-92.html that has them for sale for just over $100... has anyone heard anything about this website? Should I assume that it's too good to be true and that they're knock-offs? Any idea where I can get these for a realistic price? Thanks for any help!

Both pretty shoes, however, I like the ballerina flat...do you have a top view photo of the sandal though? Curious to get a better look!  lol

The first pair are JCrew Glitterati flats, and the second are Kate Spade Ivy Sandals. They are both comfortable, I just wasn't sure if the flats would drive me nuts on the beach (ceremony only is on the beach). Thoughts?

sunshine - I bought a pair of David's shoes that are lower than the shoes pictured below, and I think I'm going to just use these for (indoor) pics and then send them back. there's no harm in pretending, right?? : ) and zappos has 365 day returns... just sayin. ; ) I love all three of your choices. I'm slightly partial to the ones with the heart, but all three are fab.

Thanks, Kellygrrrrl!  You are so sweet to give me these links!!! Great idea to make the shoes myself.  My favorite brooch is the Swarovski crystal one!!!!  I will let you know what I come up with in the next few months!

I think they'd even look cute with a butterfly pendant attached (use ribbon and make bows). I bet you could find someone on Etsy to make them for you if you weren't sure about it.

here are a couple ideas for butterflies - congrats on picking a shoe that you can interpret in so many ways!! finally, you may try watching ebay (.co.uk perhaps) to see if any pairs show up there. good luck, and I'd love to see what you make if you decide to go that route.

At first I wanted to go bear foot, but I mention that to my Fiance and he freaked, lol so I bought 2 pair of shoes at Beyond the rack they were 100 each but they had them at 29.99 each. It took a week to get to my house not bad...so i will try the shoes when i get to Tulum and see if i can walk with them, if I cant i have the foot jewelery to wear that my brides maids are wearing.FAHCRYSTAL05SV_1.jpg

ahhhh so many amazing shoes!! I'm having issues deciding on shoes, yet again. I posted a picture awhile ago of some super cute wedges that will go great with my dress...but I'm second guessing whether I should just stick with a cute sandal. For one, my FI is't a whole lot taller than I am (depending on how tall the wedges are I might be able to pull it off). Secondly, I'm not sure I'll even be able to manage wearing wedges with my dress and not falling on my face. I'm rediculasly clumsy and will literally trip and fall over nothing lol...crossing my fingers I won't fall flat on my face walkign down the aisle! So jealous of all the hot pumps that I can't wear haha.

I'm wearing these for the ceremony - bought from a BDW bride - even though my mom isn't happy with them LOL she wants more of a wedge, but I love these.
