Diamond White vs. White

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have worn or purchased a Maggie gown, can you you tell me if you noticed a real difference between with the Diamond White versus plain white you've seen on dresses?

I'm trying to figure out if its worth it to get the Diamond White and try to match FI's shirt to it, or go with the plain white and not have to worry about it. Do you think there would be a huge difference in the photos if I wore Diamond White and he wore regular white or off white?

I ran into that same question! I asked the bridal consultant and she said that you really couldnt notice the difference especially if you're out on the beach under the sun. I personally did not get to see both colors side by side. I purchased the plain white because that's the one I tried on and I didn't wanna get disappointed if I didnt like the other color.

And just remember, nobody looks at the groom.. everyone will be looking at you! =)

hahahaha...you guys are killin' me! I am SOOO not going to tell FH about no one looking at him. Or maybe I should. He's the shy type, so maybe he would feel more comfortable believing that.

I'm more worried about the pics than anything else. I guess if I could find him a slightly off white shirt, then that might work. I keep hearing about how the colors always photograph differently than they look in person, so I'm trying to take that into consideration. Oh well. I just need to go into one of the shops around town and look at Diamond White at some point. It can't be that much different, can it? Geez. I was SO hoping this dress had an ivory option, but it doesn't. But because I'm set on getting it, I am revamping even my wedding colors. Good thing I started all this early.

I am debating the same issue. I went with diamond white because I felt it was more flattering to my skin tone and not so stark white (I could tell a slight difference when holding them next to eachother). However, I can't tell if its different enough to worry about shirt color for the guys. Ultimately, we will probably wait until my dress comes in before finding Sean a shirt.

To add yet another dilemma to the whole thing, I'm really wanting to use a stephanotis and red rose bouquet. Now I'm worried about having cream/ivory stephanotis against my Diamond White gown look too off.

I'm dark (obviously) and I know people always compliment me wearing white with my skin tone, but I really prefer the less stark cream or ivory color if given the choice. I want the Diamond White dress, mostly because I just feel it will be more flattering overall. But will ivory stephanotis as accents in my bouquet look strange with diamond white? Grrrrrrr.

I always wondered about the diamond white thing. I thought it meant that it was blatantly sparkling stark white, like a colorless diamond. But now I'm seeing people mention it being off-white. What's the deal? And why is it called diamond white?
