Riu - 80 % rule. How flexible?

Recommended Posts

I am sorry if this has been posted before....

Does anyone know how flexible they are with their rule that 80% of wedding guests must be staying at the resort? This is the rule with all of their properties. Anyone know from experience?

We are getting married at RIU Vallarta in November and to date the WC has continually stressed about the 80% rule. I know we are paying HUNDREDS in day passes!

We have a lot of guests who have time shares and aren't staying with us there.

I'm not too sure what they do if you go over. I don't know sorry!

It will depend on how many guests you have and how big your wedding is.

The bad part for you is that your wedding is on November and they have so many weddings in November that they dont really care if they loose a wedding in that month, so I think she will not say anything if you book say %70 percent or so but if you want to book %50 then I dont think they will go with it because its November. But on the other hand you could tell her that since its November you can tell her that they are always completely booked in that month so try that.

I am not sure what they will tell you but what I do know for sure is that the hotel is always booked in that month with or without weddings.
