What resorts will waive the single supplement?

Recommended Posts

Sorry if there's been a post on this before, I thought for sure there would have been but I couldn't find anything.

I'm just wondering what resorts will waive the single supplement. We are 100% sure we want to get married in the Mayan Riviera/Cancun area and have our wedding booked right now at the Grand Palladium. We tried to get the single suppliement waived but no TA could do it. There weren't many singles coming at the time so it wasn't a huge issue. Now all of a sudden there are a lot of singles coming and I feel horrible about them having to pay the $500 supplement at the GP. So I'm considering changing resorts! Eeek!

So any help on what resorts will waive the fee would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don't know of any that will waive the supplement. I'm actually pretty impressed that it is only $500! Most of the AIs base their pricing on getting a certain amount for each room, regardless of how many people are in it! Our single rate is only $150 cheaper than double occupancy!

Can any of your singles room together?

Our singles will definitely not be rooming together. There's my BM who is going through a rough part with her boyfriend and FH's friend who along with attending our wedding - and I quote - "would like to find a nice piece of overseas tail for a one nighter". He's actually a really nice guy who would do anything for you, but needless to say I'm not putting him in the same room as my BM...lol. And then FH's sister who will probably party pretty hard - and a few quiet and shy people. I've tried to figure out a way to pair them up but it just doesn't work.

If it came down to it they would all probably pay the $500 as opposed to sharing. It's just that our rates are already higher then we were hoping for so another $500 might be the breaking point where people just can't afford it. sad.gif
