I'm sorry Kelly. I can relate. Brian is the same way and it's so annoying!

I don't have any advice, but hopefully he comes around! He shoud be happy that he can have this stuff done and not actually have to do the work himself. Hell, I wish someone would come over and finish my home projects for me!

Matt would LOVE if some other guy would come over to our house and paint. We just finished painting after months and months and I know we would both have loved someone else to be doing it!

What are the options of just doing it anyway and let E get over it?

I know, I know, that isn't the best way, but sometimes "it's a guy thing" is really jsut a silly thing!

Guys are weird... :-)
Exactly, Everton would rather hire someone to do it then let our friend, it makes no sense to me. Our friend is seriously bored and wants to help and he thinks he is doing a good thing, never guessing the fight that entailed from it. I told E to deal with it himself that I was not going to call our friend and tell him no, for no good reason. I asked Everton if my girl friend came over to paint would that be okay, he said it would be better, I told him he was just being stupid and he said he doesn't care, and no it's not a jealous of another guy issue it's a can't let another guy do his job issue. He knows Bria has been upset about this so he says he will do it on Sunday, but we have a bunch of things like Bria's gymnastics, Tims football, and I promised the kids a movie. he says I can go without him and he will paint, so now i am even angrier because we have so little family time (read no Everton time) and now he is going to bail on that and leave it up to me to look after the kids stuff (as I always do) so he can paint a room that could be painted before the weekend leaving us with some quality family time, and men say women are not rational!

Men are so irrational some times when it comes to this kind of stuff. James was like this too when we first moved in to the apartment. He wanted to do everything himself but never had time and I couldn't deal with crap all over my apartment. His cousin was unemployed and needed work so I told him to come on over and I paid him. Ego or not I needed peace in my house and I wasn't going to get it with crap all over the place.

I'm really sorry Kelly that your so frustrated. I know how important it is for you to spend time with Everton and the kids since he works so much. Gosh you'd think he would want free time so that he could spend it with his family instead of being stuck painting. Men!

hehe, no, it has nothing to do with that. Everton, or I honestly don't have a jealous bone in our bodies. This friend is like a brother, he is our really good friend not just one of our random friends. it really is some sort of "I don't need another man to come over and do the job's I am perfectly capable of doing things" it has nothing to do with me and the friend being alone, hell he would have no problem if I said that D and I were going to go out to shop for some new sex toys and then out to see the strippers, he'd say have fun, no this is definitly an ego thing about guy stuff. As for paying our friend D would never take money from us, and hiring someone else i wouldn't do that because I can think of other things (like 5 kids) to spend our money on, plus this was just an unexpected nice gesture on the part of our friend paying someone would hurt his feelings. The thing about just having D do it whether E likes it or not is E would never do that to me, so I would hate to do that to him, unfortunately our relationship is built on this silly little thing called respect:) Everton doesn't take a stand on things to often, it's just frustrating when the thing he decides to take a stand against is just so freakin stupid!
