Well - my MIL is the one who bought them and I'll just have her take them! HA! We are flying American. On our last flight on United I took a lighter in a checked bag and no one noticed. My FI also inadvertantly had a lighter in his pocket on a flight to Vegas and got it through.

I'll let my MIL know and see what she says.

If all else fails, we can just send them to the WC and have her hold them for us. If they get lost - it's not a lot of money to lose...we'll just have to ramsack the bars supply of matches - while were having margaritas!! shots.gif
Maybe they say no to matches in luggage because it will give a positive reading for explosives with the test they do at the airports and the dogs they use. Just my guess since matches have that bulb of flammable material they could potentially leave residue about. Lighters probably make it by because they are pretty well sealed.
If you wanna try taking them I would keep them away from other things you pack until you have them sealed in a baggie or cello bags from the craft store :) just my thoughts

Our OOT bags were a hit. We bought the bags online. Instead of imprinting them w/ a logo (usually no one wants them after the wedding if you do that) we decided to make a card thanking them for being there, tied them w/ pretty wedding color ribbon at the handle. We used white bags and all through the long weekend in Puerto Vallarta our guests used them for their sunbathing items towels keys cameras, etc. We went to Sams in PV and loaded the bags w/ snacks, bottled water, intiniary of the weekend, gum, map of PV ( we included ) some Spanish words for them to have. They really enjoyed the bags. I saw so many of our guests carry them everyday. Of course the women had them in tow but the goodies inside the men enjoyed. I gave my bridesmaids their bag in Dallas before the wedding filled with: a towel, sandals, a scrong, sunbathng items, their earrings for the wedding, magazine. They loved it and I didnt have to carry that on the plane. Which is why I choose to go to Sams for the items for our guests. In our case the OOT bags were a hit :) Happy planning Brides!!smile159.gif

Oriental Trading company has some great ideas - the best one I found yet was a little thing people would wear around their neck...so hold their money, room-key etc - so their stuff doesn't get wet. They were super-cheap (50 cents each) and have a hibiscus theme (for a beach wedding). Here's the link:

Another idea, is i am giving everyone a beach ball (for them to blow up) - and play with in the pool, or the ocean. AGain very inexpenisve - not even 50 cents each at oriental traing.

Did you take matches with you? Did you check the bag? Did you have any problems?

Thanks!!!
I am so glad you guys brought up the matches. I leave in 9 days and had personalized matches printed and planned on taking them with me. But now I probably wont... did anyone take them down with no problems? I think I may just mail them...

Also, I know I'm in the minority here, but I am not doing OOT bags. We are giving out 4 favors at the wedding instead. I just think everyone won't use everything in the OOT bags. That is just me, though.

I've been considering inflatable beach balls, especially since we have kids coming, but I'm afraid that they might be annoying to other guests of the resort if the kids are batting them around the beach or pool ... thoughts?

Hmmm I can't think of anything else that I have but I am sure I am leaving something out.
Where did you get your candles? You mind me asking how much they cost? Thanks!
