Beach Reception

One question, they will set up a floor on the sand right? You're not dancing on the sand? I would like a terrace right on the sand I think, so you can stop dancing and walk there.

But I hate shoes, so no shoes or only flip flops the whole night for me!

Yes, they put the dance floor right on the sand for you. I looked into that, so I know that much for sure.

We are ceremony on the beach- starting 5:30ish...takes about 20 min- then sunset- reception still on the beach with finger foods, beach mats, and a small fire pit- we will dance under the stars... then later off to dinner and clubbing. We hired a WC for the ceremony stuff - made it easier for the legal ceremony but the reception part is DIY- there will only be about 15-20 TOPS with us so both moms are on board to make it doable.

 

We are thinking tiki torches asn lots of candles.

Honestly, I didn't even think about bad weather. Pretty much everything is open air at the RIU so, I don't know what they would do with bad weather. Also, there is another wedding at 4PM on my day, and I'm not sure of their reception location.

You should ask, just in case. There has to be somewhere to put you, I would figure that out, just in case. I am not wishing anything bad on you, but I took a weddingplanner course, and the one of the first things we were taught about outdoor weddings is to ALWAYS have a back up plan.

Good to know, I would not have it any other way then on the beach...going all the way to Mexico!! But I am looking into the grand palladium and Im not even sure they offer the reception on the beach or what the cost would be to do so Anyone have any info on that. Thanks

Don't worry Stephanie. My understanding is that is rains in Cabo literally like 10 days a year, and these are always in the fall. I'm told it would be pretty unheard of to have rain in the spring/summer when our weddings are...

I am sure rain is not very likely, but I must tell you, I went to Cuba a few years ago, and was told typical weather was very very hot. Well, we were wearing our winter jackets at night, it was the coldest it ever got there in 75 years. So, anything can literally happen. I just think a back up plan is very important, I would hate to see the day ruined, so to speak, just because no one asked about where they would go if it rained. I guess I am just a little anal about these things and would need to have a back up plan.

Ours is on the beach at sunset, EVERYONE in the wedding party will be barefoot (we gave the men plenty of time to get those barefeet in shape).

 

There is a covered area at our spot in case of rain. Unless you are in love with the cute wedding shoes, I say do it on the beach and barefoot!
