Creativity help needed! PLEASE!

So, I'm just going to tell you what we are planning so you will have a better idea of what would look good (or not).

We have decided to have a pre-wedding reception because a post wedding reception would be too close to Christmas and for out of towners, it would be more difficult to travel to Calgary.

To keep it fun and informal, we have booked the entire upstairs to an irish pub (see picture below). For our cake (if you want to call it that! LOL) I'm going to make little cheeseburger cupcakes...see picture below (from Sharon's cakes), however we are going to have a buffet dinner, that tastes fabulous (already tried the food! YUM!).

The problem I'm having is with the decorations! How matching does everything have to be? I just want it to look fun and classy at the same time (is this possible?! LOL).

So far, we have some metal pails that we are going to fill with nuts, chips, or pretzels and place these on the tables/bar. Should we tie balloons to the pail handles? I'm really trying to avoid streamers! I'm just not sure how much we should decorate?

Your advice and opinions would be much appreciated!!!! THANKS!!

I'm not a streamers and balloons person either. I think a few small flower arrangements and candles go a long way to add to the ambiance of any venue.

Those little cheeseburger cupcakes are amazing! How on earth did you do that? They really look like cheesburgers! How do they taste? Do you put frosting on the inside? So cool.

I think candles are nice! The cupcakes look great! I always say sometimes less is more, when you put a bunch of people in, you won't notice small details. Good luck:)

I love the cheeseburger cupcakes those are awesome! I say keep the decorations low key also I had a hard time seeing what the venue looked like in the pics so I don't have any fantastic ideas.

Those cupcakes rock! OK, of course, ANY cupcake rocks, in my book, but these are really super cute!
