I would assume though that if a couple is flying a photog in that they would be expected to put them up as well. That's what my clients do unless of course we have some other arrangement. If you think about it though, when you're already paying $xxxx for a photographer, it's not that much more to put him/her up for a couple nights.

Johnathan as far as flying in a photographer than I wouldnt think this problem would be an issue because obviously the bride/groom would be paying for the photog's arifare and room. But some photogs are based out of the Destination area and therefor paying an additional nights stay on top of everything else for them to be able to photograph the wedding is kinda a bummer sad.gif

however i have a french couple getting married there this year and they were leaned on pretty heavily to hire the resort photog. they told the resort they had a friend who was coming who was going to take some pics and they didnt need their photographer. once again im on the list as a guest. they never really talked about bringing in an outside professional as when the told the resort their friend was doing it they stopped pressuring them and they didnt have to discuss it any further.

my only wedding in cabo was at a villa so no problems there.
Leigh, am I reading this right. What do you mean by "on the list as a guest" do you mean that the bride/groom simply has to pay a guest fee for you to be on the AI resort grounds that day or do you mean guest list as in you were staying at the resort?

jackie - i mean im staying at the resort as a guest. i almost always stay where the couple is staying. if i didnt then i would expect the couple to pay the fee for me to be on the grounds the days of the wedding events. honestly its just easier if i stay at the resort and i figure that cost in my travel expenses. hope that makes sense.
