When he took it off to show me, he had the exact same design tattooed on his ring finger. He's a surgeon, so I guess when he operates, or when its not appropriate for him to wear jewellery, he takes it off, and still has the sentiment of his wedding ring, but in tattoo form!

I mentioned it to my fiance, and he thought it was pretty cool. He's not a surgeon, but liked the idea!

Anyone else know of anyone with tattooed rings??
I don't know anyone with it...but, that is something that I am going to do and trying to talk him in to it. He's not a tattoo type of person so not sure if I can get him to go through with it, but I will!

I'm with you, sorry guys!! I nearly got it done for my 1st marriage thank god I didn't. Its personal choice and i respect anyone that does it but for me no - it would be a constant reminder if things went tits up.girl_werewolf.gif

Has anyone out there gotten tattoos rings (besides Pamela and Tommy) instead of the traditional rings? And if so, are you happy with your decision or do you regret it? My FI and I are considering this (neither one of us has any tattoos and would not get any other than the rings).

Pros: Less expensive, cannot lose, not really jewelry people, worried about losing it or it being stolen, a little more permanent (even though I know they can be removed, it takes a little more effort).

Cons: Not sure how we'll feel about it later and not sure how the general public feels about it (trashy?) but do I really care?

i REALLY would like this but my hubby, not so much :) he was previously married, so i think for him its a scary sense of permanance. i'm not offended by that tho, i understand his reasoning. but i really like the idea, i think its really cool. i do think if i were to do it i would not do his name but rather just a pretty flowery band or something. or maybe i would do his name. not sure? wink.gif

We are getting both tattoo rings and real ones. Well, not really tattoo rings. I think FI is getting either an H or my name tattooed on his ring finger. He'll have a ring too but he takes it off a lot to play hockey etc so he wanted to have a tattoo too (his idea). I'm going to get his initial on the underside of my ring finger.

I've got tats and wouldn't personally do it. I've been married before and I just think its too permanent lol With any luck you're with that person for the rest of your life but that's not always the case and I don't want to be stuck with an arsehole of an ex's name on my finger lol Personal choice tho!
