Alcohol or not??

Recommended Posts

Ok we are not having a AHR or a reception in Hawaii. Just a dinner at a restaurant. We are expecting no more than 20 people.

So at the dinner (which we are paying for) should I order wine OR just have the champaigne (spp??) toast with the cake

OR should I let people order their own liquor but no more than 2 and have a champaigne (spp??) toast with the cake?? (I am leaning towards this route b.c. not everyone drinks wine or drinks alcohol at all)

Is there any way you can do a complimentary cocktail hour and than also provide the champagne for the toast? This is how many of the weddings have been set up that I have been too anyway. That way no one needs to try and keep track of who has had there 2 drinks or the I dont drink so can my wife have 4 drinks etc etc...that could get confusing for the bartenders and staff.

Sherri,

My parents and I agreed that we would only supply wine and beer for everyone (well to a point, my dad says, if it runs out too bad) and then champagne for the toast...I think that is reasonable, alcohol gets so expensive and with such a small party you wouldn't want anyone to drink too much.
