Excellent - I'm so glad I came across this post. I have been looking at pictures of weddings that were held on the cliffs and they look amazing! I've pretty sure that I will end up picking one of the larger AIs though (for a variety of family reasons) so I had figured that a cliff's wedding wouldn't be possible. I hadn't considered that it would be possible to have just the wedding part at one of the resort so it's exciting to find someone who did just that! I will check out all of Junior Baby's posts for more info. Has anyone else done this? Does anyone know if Tensing Pen will hold weddings for non-guests? Thanks guys, I love this forum!

HI Everyone!!

I am in the process of booking my wedding at Negril Escape as well!!

It took forever, tons of research, going back and forth and finally...a quick trip down to Jamaica to make up our minds!!

We love the vibe of Negril and wanted something a little more authentic, so after checking out MoBay and Negril we went with Negril. We love Sunset at the Palms...it is so cool and exactly where we want to stay with our guests. It's like a mini-paradise with all their garden pathways and trees...the treehouse style rooms are awesome and there's a great beach across the street.

For the guests that don't want to stay there, we are going to offer Riu for them. That way our guests can decide what they kind of accomoadtions they prefer.

Unfortunately Sunset is too small to host our wedding (the max is 60ppl) and we are concerned that we may have more. Therefore I am working with a local planner at Jamaican Journeys who is fantastic!! She is helping us coordinate the Groom's Dinner, our wedding, and maybe a sunset cruise or something.

We are having the wedding at Negril Escape. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see it while we were down there because we didn't know that we would end up booking our wedding like this. (originally we were thinking Iberostar for the convenience of location) Iberostar was beautiful, but again we want something smaller and more intimate.

Anyway, Negril Escape is the perfect option for people who want to be able to invite everyone (the prices are so reasonable) and still have a cliff-side wedding!

Please feel free to PM with any questions or thoughts!!

Congrats, ladies!!

All the best,

michelle

Hi Michelle!

I'd love to hear more about your wedding planning. I am really leaning towards Negril, and Negril Escape is an option that might meet our needs. I've never been to Jamaica before but my sweetheart and I plan to go to Negril in August. I'm so excited!

Are you finding the local planner to be useful? I don't know if I'll need one or not. Have you picked a location for the groom's dinner? When is your wedding date? Looking forward to hearing more about your planning!
