Ideas for guests to "throw" at you

I am going to have guests do the whole throwing thing once we walk down the aisle. But I was just wondering if anyone is doing anything other than rose petals. I have heard of lavender, rice, and bird seed.. any other suggestions of pics?

I can ask my entomologist friend, but I think you want to avoid taking anything that could have bugs in it.
