I can't seem to find the price for renting the horse and carriage.

Does anyone know the price?

I don't know the answer to your question but the Melia is a beautiful location for a DW. I went to a wedding there last summer and it was great. The Bride and Groom had the horse and carriage and it made the event even more special.

I'm not sure how much the horse and carriage is at Melia, but it's $200 (for 2009) for the day at Paradisus Punta Cana, and melia is owned by Paradisus, so I'm guessing it will be around that price..

According to the Melia's Wedding Celebration packet it is $60 USD for the horse and carriage. Hope that helps!

my BG had music played during their cocktail hour. Do believe it was their own though, so that is an option (ie ipod)

I don't think it's cheesy at all... although I can see where he might get that idea from. It is very fairytale-like! But hello, it's our wedding day! It should be as fairytale-like as possible I say!!!

If I end up getting married at the Melia, I'm SO getting the horse and carriage. Although my FI has also said that he thinks it's completely unnecessary and roled his eyes at me, lol.
