Melia Caribe Tropical: Q&A Related specifically to this hotel

Recommended Posts

Princess - As far as I know, the bars/restaurants are closed during the evening hours. I am assuming this as we are having a private reception at the Grill Restaurant which is by the beach and was told that it closes at 5pm.

DarcyJade - LOL! It's too funny that we have so much in common! I guess we'll just miss each other sad.gif in October!

The bars and restaurants near the beach all close at night. We looked into that because we were considering having a private reception at the turrey and were wondering if there would be bars close by that we could get drinks at - rather than paying the crazy per hour/per person bar prices. We ended up booking our reception on the La Barcaza Yacht instead :)

Hmmm... that's exactly why I was asking and exactly what I was worried about! I don't want to have to pay for a private bar ALL night, plus even every other night it's kinda silly that there's nowhere to go for snacks/drinks that's close for people in rooms near the beach sad.gif

Your right, all the "night life" is at one end of the resort. We stayed there in 06 and our room ended up being closer to the lobby end rather than the beach end. We liked that because we were closer to our room after dinner/drinks, etc. During the day when we'd head to the pools/beach we'd be there all day, so didnt really need to be close to our rooms.

I agree, it really sucks having to pay for a bar when you are on an all inclusive resort and every other time everything is at your disposal for free. That's why we decided to have our reception off the resort. Just made more sense to us.

Good luck with your planning! There's lots to think about!

Our first pic is the Melia Caribe in Punta Cana. I received all the wedding package information from my wedding planner, but I was wondering if someone knows what are the extras that are not listed in there. I was looking at the Fairy Tale package and I wanted the wedding ceremony on the beach. I was wondering if the have chair covers and sash? If I can bring my rose petals to have on the sand? Can I bring them some paper lanterns for them to hang? Is the private dinner reception on the beach?

That's a lot of questions, but I want everything to be perfect, so :-)

i stayed at melia memorial day week last year. i wrote a review on trip advisor. we loved every moment there!! we stayed in royal service and i wouldnt havent any other way, the gabi restaurant in RS was one of the best!! i also like the RS beach since it had a bar and they waited on you while you layed out!! they really made us feel like royalty!!! if you like big resorts then you will love it! we chose a smaller resort laromana for our wedding since we wanted everything close by and not so big.
