Tanning bed bronzers/lotions?

I did a search and could one find two old posts more about tanning beds and which salons to go to than ones about lotions.

I've tanned 2x before, in the high pressure stand up booths, and wanted to get a good base before Mexico. I have some white spots from new skin after scarring (dog bite) on my arm that I want to tan out too.

I know they always recommend lotions or bronzers at the place, but its so expensive. Does anyone have an recommendations on what brands are good to use or internet sites they like to buy from?

Thanks!!

I don't have a particular brand....but I would either get the little samples from the tanning salon (they had some for like $2 at the place I went to...and the packet would usually last through at least a few tans.) Or also, my friend got some from a Sally Beauty Supply store...it was for tanning beds and she liked it a lot. I think it was like $6 a bottle or something. A LOT cheaper then what they sell at the salons.

I've used the air brush spray tan and foam kind that you can buy at target, cvs etc. I personally liked the air brush better, they have the air brush for face too. Loreal or Netrogena works the best I think. The air brush u gotta wait for it to be completely dry, I always did it at night when I was relaxing, and the foam dries right away. Just make sure you spread evenly and you'll be good to go. I used it all last summer and everyone said it lookedlike a "sun" tan...

I use this stuff called Dark Booty or something like that. There's another one that is from Australian Gold that I like. I got them at the salon and they were about $25. I like the ones with hemp seed oil because your skin doesn't dry out!

You should get a lotion that has a bronzer in it so you see faster results. Stay away from the tingle lotions, especially if you are on the fair side! You will look like a lobster when you get out!

I also like the Mystic Tan spray on that they do at the salon. You color will be better if you tan first then get sprayed. The only negative is that the mystic tan will fade if you get in chlorinated water.

I have super sensitive skin, so I don't use a lotion. I tried a few, but they all made me breakout in hives (ack!). Before and after tanning, I just slather myself in eucerin. It doesn't seem to cause a problem in the tanning bed, and my skin doesn't get dry! Also way cheaper than the $50 tanning lotions.

This is hilarious, I just started tanning today for a girls trip to Punta Cana and did some research on the lotions. Found a great website Tanning lotion and tanning lotion accessories for wholesale prices. got the Hustle lotion for a great price. It is a regular lotion without a bronzer, I didnt want to add color with dye (ala bronzers as explained to me by the really tan guy behind the counter at the tanning salon).

Just remember, do NOT put bronzer on your face... you will get funny colors! Well, most people will at least! Just use a normal mosturizer on the face.
