Hi y'all...I asked on the Gran Porto Thread but haven't had any luck so I figure I'll ask here because I'm sure it's the same videographer for the sister resorts. Elsa isn't answering any of my questions regarding the video quality. Does anyone have an example of the video that is offered? I would do the "cheapest" $500 package but would love to see the quality of one of their end products. I'm getting so close to the wedding date and I'm irritated that once again I'm left without answers from the WC...although I guess I shouldn't be shocked at this point! Lol

Hi! So, I don't have any examples of what they offer, but when I was researching for a videographer I didn't hear great things about the one the resort offers. So what we did is, we bought a video camera for $700 and video editing software for $100, and asked my MOH's husband to video tape it for us. (he took his role VERY seriously!) I haven't finished it yet, but we've been able to add our wedding songs, break in still shots, and also we have the speeches from the reception. It may not be professional quality, but now for the same price we own the videocamera and will have it to use once we start having little ones

Well that's what I was thinking of doing although sure your camera is far better than the one I was going to buy! I just don't know who I would ask to hold still enough to video tape it and I'm afraid the sound won't be heard with the wind and ocean We're bringing our photographers with us and I don't want to pay an outside vendor fee and honestly can't afford the insane prices that they charge! Ugh...Catch 22 but I have a feeling I will regret not having a video of our ceremony which is why I was willing to consider the $500 package

We got a tripod to put the camera on so that it was still, and I'm sure that someone you know (or is even coming) has a tripod you could borrow! Ours was only like $20. All tripods are universal and so all the person has to do is just watch the zoom and make sure its focused. As for the wind, when you start looking at cameras they will say "wind proof" or something to that effect. The guy at the store told us it is all about where the mic is on the camera, and that if the mic is right on top and in front, it will pick up the wind sound because its the first thing the wind hits. We bought one that was "wind proof" and the sound is great! We also put ours on a Best Buy card so that we could make 0 interest payments until after the wedding (just be sure to read the fine print if you do that, you have to know what you are agreeing to!)

I am getting married at the Royal next May, its us and 4 guests so we can only do the semi private. Which resturant? El med, asiana, spice or mariamaria? Also we are doing our ceremony in front of peliconos at 5 on the beach so wondering if that will be enough for pictures before sun goes down?

Chelle- not sure on the restaurants- but they are all good! 5 is definitely a good start time. I am starting at 5:30 and the photographer said that was a good time. This May or next May for you? I have 7 days! I leave in 3.
