ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

It sounds like your photog is staying at a different resort? If so, (based on my recent experience) you'll definitly have to pay for him, and the fee is currently $350 (or was 2 weeks ago!).

In my case, I told my offsite coordinator my plans to use outside photography as I was making all the arrangements through her - a couple months out - when I provided numbers, meals, and other extras I wanted like dance floor. She then sent me a whole recap with all the fees I owed, broken down by each piece, which I paid before I was assigned my onsite coordinator (about a month out). I got a balance sheet back that showed everything paid, and my onsite had it when I arrived. She noted the outside photog with the front desk, and they had no issues getting into the resort to shoot from there!

Does that help?

Thanks for the responses =) Our photographer is staying else where and my offsite wedding coordinator is aware that we have him, we actually turn in the check list in a few weeks..eek!! But our photographer was asking if there was anything the resort could provide that stated he was there to work just to make sure customs isn't an issue. As for doing the pictures there, I'm not opposed to it but ive never been to Playa so I didnt know if anyone had some hot spots =) thanks again!

Hi All! I am planning a wedding at the Royal on Feb 27, 2014. Does anyone have an advice on DJ's? I think we want a DJ and I have seen pictures with DJs that have brought props and things which is something that I would love-does anyone know of any good ones? I don't know if I should go with the one the resort, or look into other vendors. Also, I want to put in my welcome bags some of those Serape blankets I think, does anyone know if there is a place to get them cheap in Playa del Carmen?? I don't really want to have to bring them all down with me, and is there a local flower market that I could possibly get flowers for the reception there and bring them into the resort? I want to use blue jars and put red or yellow flowers in them ( my colors are aqua, red and yellow), but I know the resort charges an arm and a leg for flowers- any advice!?

jordanb! your tables were so pretty!! Did you bring those lanterns down with you, or did they have them there? I was thinking about doing them also!! Congrats on getting married! Everything looked so beautiful in your pictures!
We just drove up to Austin to Ikea to get our lanterns and with 8 of them purchased they are quite bulky even though they are packed "flat". They are larger than I anticipated but you can't beat the price and we'll use them again for our AHR and then in our homes! Just hope that breaking them down doesn't break them!! Eeek!

DoReMix djs thru the resort were great- and they bright all the props you were asking about, plus fireworks, free of charge.

I brought the lanterns!
