There are 2 nicer restaurants at the Gran Porto one is mexican and the other Italian.  We ate at the mexican restaurant during our site visit and was not impressed, we tried to eat at the Italian during our site visit and our wedding and there was always a very long wait.  A couple of out guests also tried to go there and ended up leaving because of the wait .

The long tables is something I knew I wanted so I just made sure before going down there that the long tables were available and then went over it with my onsite coordinator when I got there.

The one thing with doing the set-up like this is that you need more centerpieces.  For instance we had 48 guests so could have gotten away with 8 round tables/8 centerpieces but since we did it that way I needed 14 lanterns and 12 centerpieces so it definitly costs more to do it this way.

Thanks for the info.... it really did look beautiful... sometimes the extra cost is worth it!

Hi Ladies, just wanted to know, I was asigned Lili as my onsite WC how long before I should be getting an email from her discussing when we are going to meet to go over everything before the wedding?  I'm about 3 weeks away now.

JoZee84,

I was told the onsite coordinator would contact me 30 days prior to the wedding. So I think she should be getting in touch with you any day now. Maybe contact your WC and ask her when you should hear from the on-site WC.

JoZee - I had to contact my WC and ask her who my person is. Apparently I have a guy - his name is Denys. Has anyone worked with him?

A question to all brides that got married there recently - did any of you plan a sunset cruise or any type of water activity? We were mentioning to some of our friends about hosting a sunset cruise and a few of them were visibly disturbed. They were telling us about pirates taking over ferries and private cruises in the area.

Has anyone heard or had any issues with this?

I'd really like to do this but may need to change to something else if people are that worried.

Any suggestions or ideas on a group outting in the late afternoon?
