I posted a couple weeks ago asking about the DJ/music because the song list I received was, well, not good. Ivan said that list is old, they are getting a new one together, but that they have anything and everything and have wireless download so if someone requests something or if you want a song played they don't have they can download it on the spot for you. He said he can also use CDs if you have them or iPod.

Hope that helps!

On another note....wedding is in 15 days and I still have NOT EVER been in contact with the Mexico WC...Angie told me Zulma was my WC and I have emailed her twice with no response. I have sooooo many unanswered questions that are carried over from Angie never answering them and now I can't get ahold of Zulma!

I know it's all this "be patient, it will be awesome when you're down there" but there is stuff I need to know, like about the ceremony musician!!! I have the same questions a few of you have, like do we have songs to choose from or what?! Or just say, "Hey play this" the day of and hope they know it?? Haha. We're also doing civil ceremony, and I have no clue what songs to put where.
That is kinda scary!! Can we help with anything?
What time is your ceremony and reception and where?. . .Ill be looking for you on 5/14!!

I am so happy that I am having the outside florist doing flowers for me...he is only charging $140 for the huppa flowers where the royal is charging $500!!! I just can't believe how expensive the royal services are.
i know what you mean, lots of those prices are just outrageous! The thing about flowers are, you can't even dry them to take home after, even if you wanted to.

i've been trying to calculate a "grand total" kind of thing, and a few hundred here and a few hundred there...starts to add up very quickly....

I'm a little concerned about the time of there ceremony. It's supposed to be 6pm but I would like to move it forward. Does anyone know what time the sun sets in October? I don't want to miss the sunset but don't want it to get dark too soon or worse, during the ceremony.

Thanks so much in advance! Everyone has been SO much help already!

SO.. I have a question. I received my final invoice today from Aja and on it there is a "sunset surcharge" of 400$. I was under the impression that this charge was only for CEREMONIES that were AFTER 4 on the weekend. Well my ceremony is at 2 on Friday, but my reception is at 6. So, my question is.. have any of you had this problem? Or has anyone had a situation similar to this and did you have to pay a sunset charge? I for one remember being told that I wouldn't have to pay this charge, but I can't find that e-mail to save my life.

For my food I had people order both the shrimp with jambalaya rice and the beef torendo my guest loved them both. All of the food was very good. Also before my wedding I was told on this forum I could not do a sand ceremony if I was having a legal wedding, but I confirmed with Zulma that I could do it as long as I did not reference god, as in Mexico they do not mix god with the legal ceremonies. I arrived on Sat and got married on Thur. Met with Zulma to go over things, so you have plenty of time to confirm, ask questions when you get down there. This felt like a big fam / friends vacation to me up until Wed and then I was pretty nervous. You all have to remember the reason you are doing the destination wedding and remember not to sweat the small stuff. It all comes together and you and your guests will have the time of your life.

I think I remember your food review, you had liked the blueberry thing for the salad choice best? Any reason why you didn't go with that one?

I thought we could only pick one thing for everyone unless there was a veggie sub? Is this not the case?

Oh my, um I was told that the "new policies" don't apply to previously booked weddings! They had better not be charging it! I will seriously be pissed!

OMG, I agree with Stephanie. When did you book your wedding? Also, I thought it was only for ceremonies. This is just getting ridiculous!! I mean, who honestly has their reception before 4pm?? I better not be charged this!

I know, you're so lucky you got switched to them so soon! If I don't hear from her before I head down there I'm going to be a total wreck. My main concerns are...the ceremony guitarist and how the music works, how do I contact them to let them know what songs we want and with the civil ceremony how does it work? All I get from Angie is, "It's confirmed you have a guitarist." Well...cool, but when is he showing up and what is he going to play? Haha.

We have a beach ceremony at 5pm, cocktail reception, and 7pm reception in the garden. We're doing the luxury package, have 38 ppl including Parker and I.

I know so many of you probably feel or have felt the same way, but I just feel like I'm going down there blind! Other than filling out what we want on our checklist and sending Angie emails with our wishes (who knows what shes doing with them?) I have no real way of knowing that it's all going to be done.

When do we tell them what we want in terms of like huppa, what chairs we want used, seating arrangements for the reception like how many tables, etc? I told Angie what we wanted a long time ago and she told me we could do that down there, but I kinda don't believe her and I'm starting to worry stuff won't be done.

Sorry for being a spaz. Haha.

I was under the same impression! I sched my ceremony for 2 on Thursday, since Thursday is now included in their weekends! I would def question that charge! Now I'm only doing a semi private reception at a restaurant, and if i get charged because the reception is starting AT 4 I'll be livid!
