ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi, Ladies:

They offered an $80 per day upgrade to a master suite to pretty much all our guests when we got there.  We were upgraded to a Master Suite because they did not have anymore Oceanview Junior Suites; it was beautiful!!!  We had two bathrooms, a living room with two leather sofas, a dining room, an eat-in kitchen with fully-stocked bar, beautiful sliding doors, which looked out to the living room and balcony from the master bedroom, walk in closet/changing room area, etc.  The room was so big that we threw after parties nearly every night in our suite!

I think the $80 per day upgrade is well worth it, especially if you're having all the bridesmaids and your parents meet in the room for getting ready photos beforehand.

Happy planning!
Jenn

Thanks for the info Jenn!! I am just hoping they will actually have extra rooms available when we go!! While we are there they are having 2nd Annual Railhead Rendezvous. It will be Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, Jason Boland and Randy Brown all performing at the resort. Now, I am uper excited about this cause I LOVE Texas Country but apparently there are gonna be large group going with them so I guess we will just have to wait and see!

Hi, Ladies! I'm still working on my review, but I thought I would share a slide show our photographer made from our wedding weekend... It includes our ceremony at the gazebo, and the cocktail hour and reception in one of the ballrooms. The end is our TTD in PDC at at Secrets Maroma for the start of our honeymoon!

I am not doing a legal ceremony and I thought it was OUTRAGEOUS for them to charge that!!! So... My FI and I have a friend who is going and he is very near and dear to us both so we asked him if he would perform the ceremony and he said yes! I made the ceremony myself and then emailed to him. Also, since it's not legal they dont have to be ordained. My WC Maritza took the charge off my bill!!

Kim-- Thats awesome that we have the same date although we will be in Playa!! Everything has gone pretty good so far, I got Maritza as my onsite WC and she was great!! She answered all my emails very qucikly and gave me some really good information. Also thanks to BDW I have learned soooo much yay :-) Esp now that we are in crunch mode I have been on here everyday trying to find answered to my questions! Was your planning a good experience?! You got everything ready to go?

Anyone else have a June 23rd date and either The Royal Cancun or Playa?

I have a July 21st date and I'm planning on ding the same thing as you. Do you happen to have any pointers on writing a ceremony, what did you do? Right now I have so many unanswered questions from my WC to so I understand...she's been almost unreachable for months. Did you have the same experience? I'd really appreciate any pointers or advise you can give. Good luck!! June 23rd is bachelorette party day, I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

search on here for ceremony scripts - there's a 'share your ceremony script' forum with a really great one that is pretty common for symbolic weddings. it's what we used. I would have been lost trying to create one from scratch.

on the offsite WCs, harrass away. keep emailing/calling until you get the answers you need. you'll never meet them in person (they work out of a Cancun office), so no worries. ; )

Thank you! July 21st will be here before you know it! Basically for the ceremony, I googled "wedding ceremonies" and read tons of them. Then I just started piecing them together taking a little from here and there. I am not sure if it is the best thing but it should work! Oh no, that sucks about your wedding coordinator!! Who do you have?? I didnt have that expierence at all. My WC was Maritza and she was great, she would always answer my emails within in a day or 2. I have forum that has some info on it that might answer some questions for you, if you search "Planning my Big Day at The Royal Playa del Carmen" it should come up. What are some of your questions?? I wil try to answer them as best as possible! I can email you my script if you want, then you can do whatever you want with it!

Congratulations!  Your dress is beautiful!!!  Wish I ran into you; we got married a week before, but we only stayed through Monday, the 14th!

On a completely separate note; I feel like I need a drink cause I just ordered my dress from dressilyme.com and I will have anxiety until it gets here! Even after reading all the awesome reviews and how there is nothing to worry about, I'm still worried! Anyone with experience with them who wants to remind me they are great is highly welcomed right now, lol :)

Let us know how the dress purchase goes. I've been looking at that site and looking up reviews. I really want to buy a dress from there but am so torn!

For the free wedding package we booked the prez suite for an extra 1000 dollars for 5 days and that includes the minister.

There was no way I was paying the hotel 600 dollars for a "minister". I heard they use randoms that work at the hot

When you did this upgrade, what room were you already booked for? I just asked my TA and she said it would be an extra $2,550 for the master suite, and an extra $4,500 for the presidential? I would love to upgrade the room and have the free wedding especially since I feel like I would be getting more out of it than paying $600 for a minister, but at those prices I'm thinking maybe not.
