I sent out my save the dates! Now I have 75 people to contact.

Crossing my fingers that my vendors are able to switch days and it's just a minor hiccup.

I wonder if I can get compensated or get something free for this hassle? Any suggestions?

Wow!!  I can totally empathize with you right now.  The fiance and I booked our day and time with The ROYAL through the online booking forum a year and a month in advance.  When we started working with the wedding coordinator she kept asking us to pick a day and we explained that we already had one with a confirmation number and everything (this is like 9 months out).  She still was acting confused saying she didn't see one so we sent the original email we got with the confirmation and deposit receipt.  She then lets us know (without apologizing...by the way) that we will have to pick a different day or go earlier in the day because now at this point there was already another wedding going on at this time.  We had picked the date 2-12-11 (which we think is cool and the number 12 has significant meaning in my family) so we really didn't want to change it.  They suggested we just get married the day before or after or next door...like it "really easy to change these things."  Needless to say, we sucked it up and just took the earlier time, but our WC asked us to write a formal compliant (in writing) and you know what we got out of it?huh.gif  Hot Appetizers at the Cocktail Hour!!  WTF?!?  REALLY?!?!  YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?!?!  Nope...that was their compromise!

If I was you though and you really don't find significance with the date, I would change to avoid the concert.  Most of my guests are scheduled to arrive two days in advance, so it would have worked out fine, we just didn't want to give up that date!

Good Luck~

Honestly, it was pretty much what is listed on the real site under luxury package (itemized with 0.00 next to it) and the price of that package + blood work (although I'm having symbolic)

Chicago Bride 2011 - I bought a Maggie Sottero (great for desinations) and their minimum for order time is 6 months.  Anything less than that requires a rush fee...at least according to the salon I bought from.  The salon actually picked up the rush cost, so no additional fee for me.  If you're willing to drive to the suburbs, I went to Eva's of Orland Park.  Very reasonable.

Danielle, I just realized you're from Chicago!  I went to Eva's in Oak Lawn and it was disasterous, horrible.  I know the Eva's in Orland is owned separately so maybe I'll check it out.  I'm going to a place in Villa Park on the 23rd to check out the Maggie Sottero.  Do you know how much these rush fees cost?

You may luck out depending on the style. I picked my dress and when she went to order it, she said they have ONE in your size and color! they shipped it within a week

If it was another wedding next door - I probably wouldn't care but since it's a concert - that can be disruptive. I've contacted the majority of our guests and everyone is cool with Friday. In fact they were much more open to Friday so they can save a day of travel & room pay.

Cross your fingers my last vendor who is my makeup/hair person agrees. =)

It sounds like it's working out for the best this way. LOL.... woot.gif

I can't believe our dates are coming up so soon! It seems like we just had months and months. Lisa, why do you have to pay for blood work if its symbolic?

Jes, did Zulma ask you to send it in or did you send it because you knew it was due?

Now you gave me some concerns, because I reserved my date like 1.5 yrs in advance, and didn't send any email recently to bug my WC...

I guess I better remind them about my date!
