ceremony on the beach at The Royal (mayan ceremony must be on beach)

for my reception i am planning on the beach as well, just concerned about lighting & guests being cold. for that reason wondering what people think about the central garden vs beach for reception.

also doing cocktail hour, i think in the central garden.

where are you doing your events?

Lisa- I actually sent a message on the website to the wedding department asking for a new coordinator to be assigned to me, she contacted me within hours. She sent one email confirming I'm in the system, then a few days later she sent another email letting me know she is assinged to our wedding. She has been great!

Orbit- Our wedding is actually at Real in the Gazebo. We are staying at Royal though, so I'll look for your wedding! I'm not sure where the reception will be held, I'm talking to WC about that now but we are doing only a semi- private reception.

I like dealing with the WC in Mexico because they are first hand, I don't have to worry about them saying one thing and getting down there and finding out differently.

Thank you for all your responses about the symbolic ceremony. My next concern is if FI's uncle performs the ceremony, he will pick up on it. He keeps asking us if he can do the ceremony. Although, FI cousin 2 years ago got married in Dominican Rep and his uncle performed the ceremony. She told me hers was symbolic and he didn't even realize he didn't sign anything! LOL I don't think it's worth the risk, I'll just tell him they won't allow it. My luck he'll ask someone down there lol...jeesh!

hey girls!

we just got back on tuesday evening from our wedding at the royal on June 10th and so i don't have a review done yet, but i will try to get one done soon!

i want to say that Michel is SO awesome! she did such a fantastic job with everything! our wedding was so much fun! we had the symbolic ceremony at the gazebo at 6pm, and the private reception was supposed to be on the beach @ 7 but it started pouring rain about 4pm, so she wanted to move it to pelicanos (they cleared all the tables from there out)...which i am SO glad we did, it turned out AMAZING there!!! we hired DJ Dorremix/Ivan Gomez and he did a fantastic job, our group (about 35 people) were dancing all night long, including me! He brought glow sticks, masks, and balloons and my guests loved all of those goodies! The resort did a fabulous job on our couture cake, turned out pretty much just what i asked for and tasted so good! we had three diff layers, all being a different flavor. i brought down a bunch of decorations and favors with me, and Michel set them up as i asked her to! i hired photographer victor herrera and he was so pleasant to work with, i haven't seen the pictures yet (i'm super anxious) but i know they will be great because he did an amazing job! i will post them as soon as i get them. but until then i will post some pictures that some of my guests took with their cameras! enjoy :)
