How long did you date before enagaged?

I was just 2 weeks shy of my 19th birthday when we began dating and by the time we marry we'll have been together for almost 9 years! We survived a long distance relationship with him going to school in Boston and I attending the University of Colorado. Thank goodness we're both from the same town and came back to each other in the end.

We got engaged on our three year anniversary. We will be getting married on our four year anni, that way my fiancee doesn't have to remember another date. We are getting married on January 29th, 2010 which rolls off your tongue when you say it a certain way (1-2-9-10) which also helps him remeber. We actually thought about other days but none rolled off your tongue like 1-2-9-10 does so he wouldn't go for it. I think he's kind of crazy.
